Its been a busy week thus far, here at Randa.
First, a quick rundown of what’s been done in phonon-gstreamer:
- Audio channel selection
- Displaying the audio codec in the channel selection
- That annoying bug of the video popup is fixed
- Work for improved pulseaudio support marches on
Finally, something that a lot of people have been waiting for.
QML! Its here!
Yesterday evening, Harald and I spent a few hours on implementing the last bits of QML support in phonon-gstreamer (colorspace negotiation, mostly). It is currently in the master branch and requires the latest master of libphonon to work.
It is a bit CPU intensive, as only RGB32 is supported. YUV is being worked on today, which will allow phonon to use hardware acceleration to process the video at super fast and low-CPU speeds.
Additionally, work on Dragon3 progresses. Here’s the screenshots of Dragon 3 along with the Phonon QML support in action:
